Alexander Bernardo, Air Force (2007)

Alexander Bernardo served as a Senior Airman and Nuclear Weapons Specialist in the U.S. Air Force from 1999 to 2005, including stints Lackland, Sheppard, and Kirtland Air Forces Bases. Bernardo recounts the occupational and life skills he accrued in the military. He provides his views on military culture, life after the Air Force, and everyday life for a veteran at Salem State.  His interview covers topics such as patriotism, military identity, political activism, antiwar protest, and the value of mandatory service.
